The Mamiya DM33 & DM56
Bringing Together the World’s Professional Imaging Leaders

No Constraints
Mamiya has partnered with fellow professional photographic industry world leaders Schneider, Phase One and Leaf to produce the best of all worlds – to produce two new professional digital cameras, the DM33 and DM56, designed to deliver the highest attainable image quality in most any professional photography situation.

Featuring 33 and 56 megapixel sensors precision-matched with the world’s greatest optics results in exquisitely detailed image files, even when harshly cropped. The large sensors (up to 56mm) coupled with a lush 16 bit/channel color palette, provide exceptional color accuracy and rich high dynamic range photographs in just a single capture. Other digital camera systems simply cannot compare!

Shutter Technology Breakthrough

The heart of the DM33 and DM56 systems is the new “DF” camera-core technology, developed by Mamiya, featuring two user-selectable shutter systems - leaf or focal plane.

In demanding daylight situations, photographers can use one of three new leaf-shuttered lenses (55mm, 80mm, 110mm), designed by Schneider-Kreuznach and manufactured by Mamiya, for predictable high speed flash synchronization to fill-in or overpower even the brightest ambient light. For more conventional situations, photographers can choose to use one of 15 other world-class Mamiya optics, from 28mm to 300mm APO, designed for use with the cameras’ focal plane shutter system.

Regardless of shutter choice, photographers can look forward to the DM33’s & DM56’s faster autofocus technology, as well as improved ergonomics and performance accuracy.

World’s Widest Pro Software Compatibility
Mamiya recognizes that stellar camera performance is of little value without equally powerful software options. That is why Mamiya offers photographers the flexibility of processing files using either of the included software solutions: Capture One™ by Phase One or Leaf Capture™, or you can choose to use Adobe Lightroom™ (not included) allowing the widest variety of professional processing software options available.

Proven Professionalism
For over 50 years, Mamiya has been a name synonymous with excellence and innovation in professional photographic cameras and lenses. Mamiya’s dedication to the professional market, through reliability and unique design, has made Mamiya the choice of professional photographers throughout the world. Mamiya continues to be a pioneer by continually improving and refining the finest professional photographic products with state-of-art advancements such as superior apochromatic and digital lens technologies as well as practical, ergonomic camera design and function.

Proven Modular Systems
The Mamiya DM33 and DM56 continue Mamiya’s reputation of perfecting the professional modular camera system for the ultimate in versatility. Mix-and-match components as needed – perhaps a traditional DM configuration today; then if you wish, use it with a Mamiya RZ or 3rd-party view camera system tomorrow (via optional adapters).

Lenses Specification

Mamiya lenses are designed and built for today’s foremost photographers who expect their equipment to provide both outstanding and distinctive results. Engineers at Mamiya have developed rigorous performance criteria for each lens design. No detail is overlooked. No test is omitted.

The goal is technical perfection...The result is a series of lenses which have set the new world-standard of performance. Each lens element is precisely polished and coated using Mamiya’s proprietary multi-coating process to increase light transmission, dramatically reduce flare, ensure crisp, clean whites and vibrant, yet natural colors.

Mamiya engineers and inspectors test continuously as the lens is assembled to insure flawless quality. The result is a lens designed so carefully, built so meticulously, that it consistently renders extraordinary performance.

It is Mamiya’s unique balance of extreme sharpness, brilliant contrast, accurate and consistent color fidelity and overall high performance that captures the imagination of contemporary photographers who choose Mamiya to express their personal visions. Among today’s community of world famous photographers, Mamiya lenses have established themselves as the new benchmark by which others are measured.

While all Mamiya lenses can be used on today’s high performance digital backs, the new Mamiya Sekor D series of lenses raise sharpness to a new level. Utilizing exotic Low Dispersion glass and Aspherical lens elements, the Sekor D Digital Lens series produces ultrawide coverage (28mm f4.5), exceptional color accuracy and sharp, contrasty images. And all Mamiya Digital lenses are designed to work with film backs, not only digital backs!
